Welcome!

New to

Welcome! We are so glad that you are here. We are a church that God has planted in the heart of Palm Beach Gardens made of different ages, backgrounds and ethnicities.

When you step on to this campus, we want you to feel welcome and right at home.

Below is some information about our beliefs,
the vision God has given to CITG and our history.

Our Vision:

Vision

The Vision that God has given CITG is to be a place of refuge for families, a place of growth and community for believers, and a place where ordinary people encounter the authentic presence of God.

Mission

Our Mission:

Our Mission at CITG is simple.
Be a Disciple, Make a Disciple.

So, in obedience to what He has asked of us, we pray that CITG remains a vibrant, loving, growing church that is impacting our community and our world for Jesus Christ.

Beliefs

Our Beliefs:

Essential truths… they don’t change.

These beliefs and this statement of faith are at the core of who we are as a family.

Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, who died for our sins and arose from the dead.
(1 Corinthians 15: 1-8; John 3:16)

The Bible is the inspired word of God – a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.
(2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:105)

Every person has worth as a creation of God, but all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
(Romans 3:23)

Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord.
(John 3:16)

Those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized in Him.
(Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38)

The Church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit to evangelize the lost and edify the saved.
(Ephesians 4:1-16)

Jesus Christ will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords.
(Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith:

God has given us His Word, and we hold fast to it.

These core tenets and principles are central to our faith.

We believe in one God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

 (Matthew 5:16456:1489James 1:17John 1:114:9Genesis 1:2Luke 1:26-38)

We believe in the Son, Jesus Christ, truly God and fully human:

We believe in the Holy Spirit, Who is an active and operative part of the triune God, and Who indwells every Christian.

 (John 16:5-15Acts 1:7-8Romans 8:26-271 Corinthians 3:166:192 Timothy 1:14)

We believe in the Bible as God’s Holy Word.  We believe God inspired the autographs (original writings) of the Scripture and those autographs were consequently without error.

(Mark 12:36John 14:2616:12-15Acts 1:161 Corinthians 2:12-132 Timothy 3:14-162 Peter 1:20-21)

We accept the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.

(Isaiah 40:8Matthew 5:1824:35Romans 15:4Hebrews 4:12)

We believe the Bible teaches that man, created by God, willfully sinned against God and is consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.

(Acts 4:12Romans 3:23)

We believe the Bible teaches that salvation and the forgiveness of sins is achieved only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ.

(Matthew 26:28Romans 5:9Ephesians 2:8-91 Peter 1:18-191 John 1:7)

We believe the Bible teaches that one receives God’s grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ, and being baptized into Christ, but that none of these is sufficient in and of itself for the assurance of salvation.

(Romans 5:1-2Luke 24:45-47Acts 3:1917:302 Peter 3:9Matthew 10:32Romans 10:9Philippians 2:111 John 4:15Acts 2:38Romans 6:1-7Galatians 3:27Colossians 2:121 Peter 3:21)

We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ, founded on the Day of Pentecost and consisting of all Christians everywhere.

(Matthew 16:13-18Acts 2:14-47)

We believe the Bible teaches that the Elders are to exercise authority over the local congregation.

(Acts 20:28Philippians 1:11 Timothy 3:1-7Titus 1:5-91 Peter 5:1-4)

We believe that God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman.

(Gen. 2:24-25; Ex. 20:14, 17; Ex. 22:19; Leviticus 18:22-23, 20:13, 15, 16; Matthew 19:4-6, 9; Romans. 1:18-31; I Corinthians 6:9-10, 15-20; I Timothy 1:8-11; Jude 7).

We believe that God created the human race male and female.

(Gen 1:27; Deutteronomy 22:5).

We believe that all human life, from conception to death, is sacred and created by God in His image.

(Psalms 139.)

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity.

(Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31.)

This Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe.  For purposes of the Church’s faith, practice, policy, and discipline, our Elders are the Church’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

We believe in one God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

History

History of CITG:

In 1962, a handful of devoted Christ-followers from the Southern Boulevard Church of God in West Palm Beach, FL were led by the Lord to plant a church “way up in Palm Beach Gardens.”

  • CITG has been led by 9 Lead Pastors.

  • The building we now call the Fellowship Hall was the original sanctuary.

  • A few years later, a second building, the “Education Building,” was added, housing our Sunday School classes and preschool.

  • CITG Preschool serves approximately 130 toddlers through VPK students, providing a safe and godly environment for learning.

  • Our present-day sanctuary was completed in October 1976. The church office, Joshua House, and Trinity House were added over the years.

  • In 2016, our newest building was completed, housing our Student Ministries

and CITG Preschool.

  • Our history is not complete as we look forward to fulfilling God’s mission for CITG!

Learning What We Believe

CITG is affiliated with the Church of God movement out of Anderson, Indiana. The goal of its founders in 1881 was not to start another denomination but to emphasize the unity of God’s people, holy living, and primary allegiance to Jesus Christ. For more info, visit: www.chog.org

CITG is what is commonly known as an evangelical church. While some branches in Christianity look to tradition, reason, or culture as their authority; evangelical churches look only to Scripture as their true source of authority. An evangelical church is also called a “Bible-believing” church, which we unswervingly are!
